  1. Introduction to steel structure

  It is also called working platform or steel structure platform. The modern steel structure platform has various structural styles and complete functions.

  The structure is characterized by completely assembled structure. The structure design is flexible, and the steel structure platform meeting the site requirements, the use function requirements and the logistics requirements can be designed and manufactured according to different site conditions. The steel structure platform is widely used in the modern storage.

  2. Composition and classification of platform structure

  1. Composition: the platform structure is usually composed of the floor plate, the primary and secondary beams, the columns, the support between the columns and the ladder, the primary and secondary beams, columns, support between the columns for the handrails as well as the ladder, the handrail, etc.

  2. Classification: the platform can be classified into indoor outdoor platforms, static load and dynamic load bearing platforms, production auxiliary platform and middle-sized and heavy-duty operating platforms, etc. according to the use requirements.

  -the platform structure can also be classified into the following platforms based on the difference of pedestal treatment modes:

  1) Platform directly placed on the tripod of the workshop columns or the bracket and having the function of escape corridor, or simple middle-sized operating platform.

  2) Platform with one side supported on the workshop columns or the building wall and the other side equipped with the independent upright column.

  3) Platform supported on the large-scale equipment.

  4) Fully independent platform.

  The platform under the large dynamic load or with the high gravity equipment is preferred to be designed by separating from the workshop columns and is directly supported on the independent column.

  3. Arrangement of platform structure

  1. The platform structure shall meet the process operation requirements, and ensure the passing and operating clearance. The general passing free height shall not be less than 1.8 M, the protective handrails shall be arranged around the platform, and the handrail height is usually 1 M. When the platform height is greater than 2 m, the skirting board with the height of 100-150 mm shall be arranged under the protective handrails. The platform shall be provided with the ladder for going up and down, and the ladder width shall not be less than 600 mm.

  2. The plane size and the elevation of the platform structure shall be determined. When the beam grillage and the column grid are arranged, the equipment load on the platform and the locations of other larger concentrated loads as well as the hanging of large-diameter industrial pipelines shall be considered except for meeting the use requirements;

  3. The arrangement of platform structure shall be economic and reasonable and achieve direct and clear force transfer. The arrangement of beam grillage shall adapt to its span. When the span of beam is large, its distance is preferred to be increased. The grillage shall be arranged reasonably by taking full advantage of allowable span of the floor plates to obtain better economic effect.
